NCTCE 2015-6

Transition Choir

This year, as well as putting on the Follow Your Dreams concert at Lanercost Priory Festival and supporting the Mini Big Sing in Penrith, the NCTCE has been offering taster singing sessions to schools in Eden and Carlisle in the summer term. So far 7 schools have taken part. The sessions have mainly concentrated on songwriting, jazz and singing with drums and have been lively and engaging. Here are some comments from Yewdale children:

When we were singing bare necessities, I really liked it because Jilly was doing a little dance while she played her trumpet. It made me want to join in and sing along!

Livvy

The introduction was good because she started the music straight away. She used clapping and her voice to get us going.

Ryan M

I liked the bare necessities because it was done with the trumpet. She made a really high note at the end which made us all laugh!

McKenzie

I liked it when we made up our own song because it was really funny. We had to sing it and it had funny words.

Matty

We thought Jilly’s music session was awesome! Our favourite parts were singing the silly songs and do the actions to match

Jilly was really nice and was really good at playing the keyboard (I said that she should have gone on Britain’s got Talent!)
