Youth Jazz Programme
A fantastic opportunity for young Cumbrian players of all abilities to access the best UK tuition in jazz and musicianship. BlueJam is really looking forward to the music-making that will take place at the sessions and the new ideas and enthusiasm they will generate in our area.
This was a fantastic series of four weekends with 20 young players and 3 tutors from NYJC: Issie Barratt (Director); Dee Byrne (sax) and Rebecca Nash (piano), with BlueJam’s Geoff Bartholomew (trumpet).
Eddy (sax) went on to do the NYJC short summer course:
“Just to say that Eddy had a brill time at the NYJC. Thanks for telling him about it and giving him the confidence to apply for the short course. He is inspired rather than put off by the overall standard , so that’s good.
Hoping he can continue to join in Blue Jam events. He needs to play in a Big Band !!”
