Stone Meets Sky

A fantastic opportunity for Year 6 pupils across North Cumbria to take part in a composition and film-making project with BlueJam Arts Young Songwriters.

Working with BlueJam tutors, the children will create film and music as a creative response to the local Neolithic heritage.

Subsidised workshops will be offered to participating primary schools in the summer term.

Letters will be sent out to schools in March.

Funded by Heritage Lottery.

Creative Ensemble

As part of NCTCE’s mission to increase the number of children who feel confident to play an instrument in a group in a mixed ability setting, schools who sign up to either the Alhambra project or Stone Meets Sky project are invited to free open sessions of the Children’s Orchestra. This takes place in Penrith Music Centre @ North Lakes School on Saturday mornings.

The next open session is March 21st 2015.

10.30 – 12.30

Afternoon at the Alhambra

An afternoon where children from North Cumbrian primary schools can sing together, present individual school showcases and take part in a live soundtrack to film of local stone circles.
